Back on Deck for 2009

Monique Simpson

Hello everyone.

I hope things are going well for you and your family.

For those of you who have recently joined our ‘Autism Essentials‘ newsletter, welcome and I hope that you are finding it helpful!

For others, who may not have heard from me in a while, apologies that I have been out of touch. I have been off on maternity leave for the last little while since being blessed with my beautiful daughter Siena, who is already one… doesn’t time fly!

Siena and me

The rest of the team here at Connect Therapy have been doing a great job managing the clinic and website in my absence.

But I just wanted to let all our subscribers knowthat now that I’m back on deck, I will be doing my best to keep in touch with everyone at least twice a week to continue sharing my insights, advice and experience… and to help (where I can).

Hopefully some of the topics discussed will apply to your own situation or at the least give you some ‘food for thought’ for helping your child with autism.

So. I’ll be in touch again very soon!

Best Wishes

Monique Simpson

    Congratulations!
    She’s so adorable.
Yes I missed your newsletters and I’m glad you’re back. I started the US Sonrise Program with my son last year and it has helped my son with toilet training and language. I desire more like any parent and I’ve found your writings helpful
Thanks for affecting people like us

  3. Sunitha could you tell me…..
    1) Does it seem like your daughter is doing the ‘eye squint’ thing as a ritualistic behaviour because it is motivating for her (ie ‘on purpose’). If so why do you think it is so motivating for her? or
    2) Is she struggling to make the noise and therefore squints to try and get the noise out?

Congratulations! You must be so proud of your beautiful baby!
Look forward to seeing your newsletters again. They are all helpful.
My son, Zac,started school in a transient autism class (public school)He is doing OK & has settled in.I found his behaviour went a little backwards at first but he is reading more and I believe the smaller class suits him.
I have just found a hole in his back tooth which would be the reason he has not been eating as usual.
Do you have any information on dentists in Sydney that deal with kids with ASD? I’m having trouble finding anything on the internet.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thank You kindly Tracy
